Brymore is a very friendly school, but discipline is firm: necessarily so, since work with animals and machinery requires strict adherence to rules of acceptable behaviour and safety procedures.
Sensible behaviour, endeavour and good works are recognised in an ever-developing reward system. Merits are given to instantly highlight worthwhile acts. At regular intervals commendations are awarded in both curriculum and pastoral areas, which build towards the achievement of letters of commendation that are sent home, then certificates that record the pupil's achievement. Points are awarded for all achievements, both in and out of the curriculum, which contribute towards the 'house' shield.
Some pupils in years 11 and 12 are offered the posts of monitors and prefects. They then assist the staff with the running of the School. In some areas of the School, particularly the farm and gardens and within the boarding houses, senior boys are appointed to positions of real responsibility. |
