History of Brymore

Brymore, a 'Secondary Technical School' for boys, was established by the Somerset Education Committee and opened in 1952 by Lord Carrington.

ImageIt is based in a large country house, part of which dates back to the 15th century. Surrounding the school are over 60 acres of pleasant woodland grounds and farm land while the picturesque Quantock Hills are visable from the school, a few miles to the west.

For many centuries Brymore was the family home of John Pym, the great Parliamentarian. The School can accommodate 150 boarders (from all over the country) and 50 dayboys.
